On International Men’s Day, a powerful new film lifts up the stories, struggles, and strength of Black men.
On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the documentary “BLACK MAN” by director Jon Covington premieres in Los Angeles in honor of International Men’s Day. The film brings together the stories of Black men from diverse ages and backgrounds, giving them a platform to share their perspectives on identity, fatherhood, mental health, racism, and hope in their own words.
More than just a screening, the premiere is framed as a community event—inviting families, mentors, and young men to see positive representations that rarely make the headlines. The film’s message is simple but radical: Black men are complex, loving, resilient human beings whose lives cannot be reduced to statistics or stereotypes
For cities across America, “BLACK MAN” offers a model: tell the truth about pain, but center dignity, healing, and possibility. The Positive Black Network can point viewers to this project as an example of media created for Black men, with Black men at the center.
