In New York, on Thursday, September 7, 2023, Coco Gauff from the United States triumphs over Karolina Muchova from the Czech Republic in the women's singles semifinals of the U.S. Open tennis championships.
On this at Flushing Meadows, Gauff, this young woman hailing from Florida who is 19 years of age, secured her spot in the final by overpowering Muchova with a score of 6-4, 7-5.
Displayed by Gauff, was her readiness for the moment, akin to the anticipated triumphs that have been projected onto her since her remarkable feat in 2019, when she, at the tender age of 15, became the youngest qualifier in the esteemed history of Wimbledon and made it to the fourth round.
In the championship on Saturday, the No. 6-seeded Gauff will be facing off against No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus. Following a topsy-turvy second semifinal that concluded close to 1 a.m., Sabalenka emerged victorious with a score of 0-6, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (10-5) against 2017 U.S. Open runner-up Madison Keys.
